Basic Silversmithing:- “the right end of a Hammer”

Summer 2015
11.00 to 16.00 hrs (with time for lunch)
Cost £60 materials provided (Aluminium sheet, some copper).
One day class
Maximum class size 4
Beginners (and experienced students who wish to revisit the basics)
Tailored for beginners, you can come and explore the processes needed to work with hammers on sheet metal.
Using different types of Hammers the student explores the effects upon metal the different faces have. Progressing through six different basic experiments, the student observes the way the metal moves under the hammer. Finally finishing off to create a free form vessel using their observations.
